On the 12th December 2022, the Latvian regulator FKTK (Finance and Capital Market Commission) has imposed the end of the operations of the Baltic International Bank in order to ensure the stability of Latvia’s financial sector and to protect the interests of the bank’s clients.
This news will not only affect the direct customers of the bank but it may also have consequences for several Electronic Money Institutions, as this bank was widely used by EMI as a partner in order to fulfill various payment services.
